A DataConnect account lets you transfer shapefiles and raster data between your iPhone or iPad and computer. There are two components to DataConnect:

You must have a DataConnect account to download and install the standalone LocalConnect software on your computer. For information on installing and running LocalConnect, see the LocalConnect Guide, available along with the software from: http://www.gisroam.com/getlc/
Step 1: Run the LocalConnect software on your computer to create a package of data for use in GISRoam.
Step 2: Connect your iPhone or iPad to your computer, open iTunes and select your mobile device.
Step 3: In iTunes on your computer, click the Apps (Applications) tab and scroll down to the bottom of the panel. You should see a list of applications that support file sharing, including GISRoam.
Step 4: Click GISRoam and then either click Add and use the Windows browser to locate your files or open the output directory in Windows and manually drag and drop the files onto the GISRoam Documents. Large files may take a few seconds to appear in this list.
You can also drag and drop files from the LocalConnect Explorer Tab directly to iTunes,

Step 5: Open GISRoam on your iPhone or iPad and tap
DataConnect to open the DataConnect screen.

WebConnect transfers shapefiles between GISRoam and your computer over the internet using the WebConnect server.
Webconnect Settings are used to create or log into your DataConnect account.
LocalConnect transfers shapefiles and/or raster data between GISRoam and your computer using over a USB connection using iTunes.
GISRoam Store contains free sample data available for download over the internet to your mobile device.
Step 6: Depending on the type of transfer you are doing, tap LocalConnect Shapefiles or LocalConnect Raster Data to view a list of available files.

Shapefiles that are ready in iTunes for import into GISRoam appear "grayed out." Shapefiles on your device that are ready for export to iTunes appear in bright text. Any point style icons that have been associated a shapefile are automatically included when the file is exported. |
Imagery that is ready in iTunes for import into GISRoam appears "grayed out." Because imagery cannot be modified in GISRoam, it is not available for export into iTunes. |
Step 7: Tap a file to open a list of available operations.

Step 8: Select an operation to transfer the file.

Step 2: Tap WebConnect Shapefiles to display a list of shapefiles on your mobile device.

The icon to the left of each shapefile indicates its status:

Step 3: Tap a shapefile to open a list of available operations.
