GISRoam lets you digitize shapefile features and modify feature attributes in the field. With a DataConnect account, you can transfer shapefiles between your iPhone or iPad and a computer over the internet.
The standalone Forms Editor lets you set up predefined sets of feature attribute values and provide links and pictures to help with data collection.
The standalone LocalConnect program lets you transfer shapefile and imagery between your mobile device and computer. To download the LocalConnnect, visit: http://www.gisroam.com/getlc/

GPS Tracking Mode determines whether or not the map automatically centers on the user location as determined by the device's internal GPS unit.
When GPS Tracking Mode is set to User Location, your current position is indicated by a transparent dot on the screen. A larger transparent circle indicates the GPS unit's margin of uncertainty. As you zoom out, the margin of uncertainty becomes too small to display and the position indicator changes to a circle with cross hairs.
On the iPhone: Map Display Type can be set to a Standard map, Satellite image, or a Hybrid showing the map on top of satellite data.
On the iPad: Map Display Type can also be set to Terrain contours and None.
