One cannot export collected/edited shapefiles or add new Shapefiles/rasters to the GISRoam Client without having a DataConnect, LocalConnect, or WebConnect account which is available in the GISRoam In App Store.

LocalConnect Information

LocalConnect is a PC desktop Client to convert, load, and synchronize information between GISRoam client and your computer.

Current Version 1.1.20 - 07 Dec 2011, Localconnect  functions in two ways.

1) By entering your webconnect login and password into LocalConnect “settings”, you can now convert vectors locally and by right clicking on them in the “local connect explorer” list upload them directly to webconnect or download changes from webconnect.

2) Or use it to convert vectors and raster which can be dragged from the “explore” folder directly into iTunes which loads them to your GISRoam ipad the next time you plugin and sync with your USB cable.

DataConnect supports two kinds of vectors: Shapefiles (3D) and MapInfo
DataConnect supports the following Image raster formats: MRsid, ECW, IMG, GeoTIFF/TIFF/BIG TIFF, JPG2K, JPG, DOQQ, and NITF (RPF)
DataConnect supports the following Elevation formats: DTED, DEM,  ARCGrid, GEOTIFF, SRTM, XYZ Grid, and BIL
Dataconnect / Localconnect supports 1300+ projections with .prj files
